This Account & Data Deletion Policy explains how customers of AHEMFI BLISS ENTERPRISE (“AHEMFI BLISS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) may request account closure, deletion of personal information, correction of data, or other privacy-related actions concerning information processed through https://ahemfibliss.africa/.
This policy applies to customers and users in Ghana and Nigeria, together with other individuals whose personal information is processed through our website where applicable.
1. Purpose of This Policy
The purpose of this policy is to explain:
- How customers can request account deletion
- How personal-data deletion requests are handled
- What information may need to be retained
- When deletion may be restricted by law
- How identity verification may be completed
- How correction and privacy requests can be submitted
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Data Usage Policy.
2. Account Deletion
Where customer-account functionality is available, customers may request closure of their account.
A deletion request may cover:
- Account profile information
- Saved preferences
- Certain stored addresses
- Certain marketing preferences
- Certain website-account information
- Other personal information connected with the account where deletion is legally available
Closing an account does not necessarily mean that every record associated with previous transactions can be deleted immediately.
3. How to Request Account Deletion
Customers may request account deletion by contacting:
support@ahemfibliss.africa
or
info@ahemfibliss.africa
The request should clearly state that the customer wishes to close or delete their account.
To help us identify the correct account, we may request information such as:
- Name associated with the account
- Email address used for the account
- Relevant order information
- Other reasonable verification details
Customers should not send passwords, full payment-card information, banking passwords, or similar sensitive credentials when making a request.
4. Identity Verification
Before deleting an account or releasing, changing, or deleting personal information, we may take reasonable steps to verify the identity of the requester.
This helps prevent unauthorized deletion, fraud, account takeover, and unlawful access to personal information.
The amount of information requested for verification will depend on the nature and sensitivity of the request.
5. Personal Data Deletion Requests
Customers may request deletion of personal information where such a right is available under applicable law.
A deletion request may relate to information such as:
- Account details
- Contact information
- Marketing preferences
- Certain support records
- Website preferences
- Other personal data that is no longer required
Deletion rights are not absolute.
Some information may need to be retained where there is a lawful reason to do so.
6. Information We May Need to Retain
Even after an account is closed, AHEMFI BLISS may retain certain information where reasonably required for:
- Completed order records
- Payment and transaction records
- Tax and accounting obligations
- Refund and return history
- Fraud prevention
- Chargeback or payment disputes
- Legal claims
- Regulatory obligations
- Security investigations
- Compliance with lawful requests
Where possible, information that no longer needs to identify a customer may be deleted, anonymized, or otherwise restricted.
7. Order and Transaction Records
Information relating to completed purchases may need to be retained even after an account is deleted.
This may include:
- Order number
- Product information
- Transaction records
- Refund information
- Delivery records
- Accounting information
- Relevant customer-support records
Retention may be required to comply with applicable tax, financial, consumer-protection, dispute-resolution, or legal obligations.
8. Payment Information
Payment transactions may involve independent payment processors.
AHEMFI BLISS does not intentionally store full card numbers, CVV/security codes, banking passwords, PINs, or similar sensitive authentication credentials.
Where payment providers independently process or retain transaction information, deletion requests concerning their systems may need to be handled according to their own privacy procedures.
9. Marketing Data
Customers may request to stop receiving promotional communications without deleting their entire account.
Marketing preferences may be changed by:
- Using an unsubscribe option where available
- Contacting our support team
- Requesting withdrawal of marketing consent where applicable
We may retain limited suppression information where reasonably necessary to ensure that a customer who has opted out is not unintentionally added back to marketing communications.
10. Cookie and Browser Data
Deleting an AHEMFI BLISS account does not automatically remove cookies stored in the customer’s browser or device.
Customers can manage or delete cookies through:
- Browser settings
- Available website cookie controls
- Device privacy settings
Further information is provided in our Cookie Policy.
11. Correction of Personal Information
Customers may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
This may include updates to:
- Name
- Email address
- Delivery address
- Account information
- Other profile details
Some historical transaction records may need to remain unchanged where alteration would conflict with accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal requirements.
12. Restriction of Processing
Where applicable law provides such a right, a customer may request that certain processing of personal information be restricted.
This may be relevant where:
- The accuracy of information is disputed
- The legality of processing is challenged
- The information is needed for legal claims
- An objection to processing is being reviewed
Restrictions are subject to applicable legal conditions.
13. Withdrawal of Consent
Where personal information is processed on the basis of consent, customers may withdraw that consent where applicable.
Withdrawal of consent does not normally affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.
It also does not prevent continued processing where another valid legal basis applies.
14. Data Portability
Where applicable law provides a right to data portability, eligible customers may request certain personal information in a structured and commonly used format.
This right generally applies only to specific categories of information and processing circumstances.
15. Deletion of Reviews and User Content
Customers may request removal of personal information contained in reviews, ratings, comments, testimonials, images, or other customer-submitted content where legally appropriate.
Removal may not always be possible where:
- The content has been lawfully anonymized
- Retention is required by law
- The content is necessary for legal claims
- Another lawful basis applies
We may also remove public content ourselves where it violates our website policies.
16. Requests Relating to Ghana
Where personal information relating to individuals in Ghana is processed, requests will be handled in accordance with applicable requirements of Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other relevant laws.
Eligible individuals may have rights concerning access, correction, objection, and deletion or blocking of information where applicable.
17. Requests Relating to Nigeria
Where personal information relating to individuals in Nigeria is processed, applicable requests will be handled in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other relevant requirements.
Eligible data subjects may exercise rights provided by Nigerian data-protection law.
18. GDPR and UK GDPR Requests
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies to a specific processing activity, eligible individuals may have rights including:
- Access
- Rectification
- Erasure
- Restriction
- Objection
- Data portability
- Withdrawal of consent
- Complaint to a supervisory authority
These rights apply only where the relevant legal conditions and territorial scope are satisfied.
19. When a Deletion Request May Be Refused or Limited
AHEMFI BLISS may lawfully refuse or limit a deletion request where information must be retained for reasons such as:
- Compliance with legal obligations
- Tax or accounting requirements
- Prevention or investigation of fraud
- Establishment or defence of legal claims
- Consumer disputes
- Security purposes
- Regulatory obligations
- Exercise of legal rights
- Other lawful grounds recognized by applicable law
Where appropriate, we may explain why all or part of a request cannot be completed.
20. Deletion From Backup Systems
Personal information may temporarily remain in secure backup systems after deletion from active systems.
Backup information is generally retained for business continuity, disaster recovery, or security purposes and is not ordinarily used for routine business activities.
Information within backups may be deleted, overwritten, or anonymized according to applicable backup and retention procedures.
21. Account Deletion and Pending Orders
An account deletion request may be delayed or limited where an active transaction still requires information for:
- Order fulfilment
- Delivery
- Payment verification
- Returns
- Refunds
- Customer support
- Dispute resolution
Where possible, account closure can proceed after the relevant transaction or obligation is completed.
22. Fraudulent or Unauthorized Requests
We may refuse, delay, or investigate a request where there is a reasonable concern that it is:
- Fraudulent
- Submitted by an unauthorized person
- Intended to gain access to another person’s data
- Designed to interfere with an active security investigation
- Otherwise unlawful
Identity verification may be required before further action is taken.
23. Response Handling
We aim to review privacy and account-deletion requests within a reasonable period.
Actual handling time may depend on:
- Complexity of the request
- Identity-verification requirements
- Number of systems involved
- Applicable legal requirements
- Whether transaction or legal records must be reviewed
Where applicable law specifies a mandatory response period, that requirement will take priority.
24. Data Security During Deletion
Deletion and account-closure requests are handled using reasonable administrative and technical safeguards.
We aim to prevent unauthorized deletion, accidental loss, unlawful access, or improper disclosure during the request process.
No digital system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but reasonable safeguards are applied according to the circumstances.
25. Changes to This Policy
AHEMFI BLISS may update this Account & Data Deletion Policy to reflect changes in:
- Website functionality
- Account systems
- Privacy requirements
- Data-retention practices
- Business operations
- Applicable laws
